The Richard R. Reed Foundation will provide grants to promote science and reason and will also donate monies to small, non-profits to help children and animals in need. This Foundation is wholly funded through private sources and will not seek donations from the general public. Each year we expect to make 15-20 grants of $10,000 each to organizations in the United States and Mexico.
Our focus will be on smaller non-profits and causes where a $10,000 grant will make a significant difference in meeting organizational expenses or funding special projects. Later this year we will also be awarding scholarships for winning essays regarding topics related to research in science and reason.
We are excited to embark on this new journey of giving for, as Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
